Remote Opportunities
VECINA has a number of volunteer opportunities for both attorney and non-attorney volunteers.
ReUnite
VECINA’s ReUnite Project assists family members and other loved ones seeking the release of unaccompanied immigrant children from U.S. government custody.
We are still in need of more attorney volunteers, admin support volunteers, and volunteer interpreters in languages other than Spanish, as we are very fortunate to already have many volunteer Spanish interpreters lined up to help with these cases.
Afghan Adjustment of Status
Thousands of Afghan nationals fled to the United States in search of safety. Many have now received asylee status, and now need to apply for adjustment of status to become legal permanent residents (LPRs) in the U.S. We need volunteer attorneys and administrative support volunteers.
Defensive Asylum
Many asylum seekers appearing in Immigration Court find themselves unable to find legal help. Defensive asylum volunteers fight for their clients’ permission to stay. We need volunteer attorneys, administrative support, and interpreters.
*We are not currently accepting new volunteers for this project. Please check back with us soon.
